Recovery looks different for everyone, which is why Addiction Free Recovery provides a wide range of therapies and treatment approaches. Our clinical team tailors each treatment plan to address the specific challenges our clients face, from co-occurring mental health conditions to deep-rooted trauma.
Many people living with addiction also struggle with a co-occurring mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. Our dual diagnosis treatment program addresses both conditions simultaneously, giving clients the best chance at sustained recovery rather than treating symptoms in isolation.
Every program at Addiction Free Recovery is grounded in evidence-based treatment methods backed by clinical research. These approaches have been shown to improve outcomes in addiction recovery and help clients build the coping skills they need to maintain sobriety after treatment ends.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines FDA-approved medications with behavioral therapy to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms, and support long-term recovery. MAT is especially effective for opioid and alcohol use disorders and is administered under close medical supervision.
Our 12-step program offers a structured, peer-supported framework for recovery that has helped millions of people achieve and maintain sobriety. Clients work through each step with guidance from counselors and support from others who understand the challenges of addiction firsthand.
Recovery does not end when a treatment program is completed. Our addiction aftercare services provide ongoing support, relapse prevention planning, and continued access to resources that help clients stay connected to their recovery community long after leaving our facility.
Addiction affects the entire family, not just the individual. Family therapy helps rebuild trust, improve communication, and establish healthier dynamics so that loved ones can play a supportive role in the recovery process and begin healing together.
Individual and group addiction therapy sessions give clients a safe space to explore the emotional and psychological factors driving their substance use. Our licensed therapists use a variety of therapeutic modalities to help clients develop self-awareness, build resilience, and create a meaningful life in recovery.
Unresolved trauma is one of the most common drivers of substance abuse. Our trauma therapy program uses specialized techniques to help clients process painful experiences in a safe, supportive environment, breaking the cycle between trauma and addiction.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and change the negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to substance use. CBT is one of the most widely studied and effective therapeutic approaches for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.

I'll make this as concise as possible. There are times in ones' life when things are not ideal. Regardless of what coping mechanisms we may have things can get out of control before we know it. I for one, am one of those people. I experienced (what I felt like) near catastrophic life changing events in 2024 and it led me down a dark and lonely path. I turned to the only thing that was consistent in my life...alcohol. Substance Use Disorder does not discriminate. It doesn't care about our educational level, our social caste, our health, our past experiences. It's an insidious disease. And being someone who is in the medical profession, I will attest to the fact that it is indeed, a disease. There is a stigma that comes with SUD. It doesn't mean we're weak, it doesn't mean we are insignificant... it means we have fallible coping skills that can lead us on a treacherous road. There is nothing wrong asking for help. In fact, I honestly believe you're a stronger person if you do ask for help. I came to AFRS in October of 2024. I was treated kindly not only by my peers, but by staff as well. There are incredible people who work here who want to truly help you. It can sometimes be difficult for friends and family to understand our struggles. Hence, it is truly invigorating to be around like-minded people who understand you and have similar experiences . It may seem scary at first, but once you take the step to get help for any type of treatment, it can be life changing. I look forward to the next chapters in my life and being here at AFRS equipped me with more 'tools' to deal with life on life's terms. Thank you all there at AFRS for all the support and I am grateful to all the people I have met here. If you're on the fence about receiving treatment... don't! It may not be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.
